Whisk Reward is a blog for easy, dairy-free recipes with flair. Elegant and delicious dairy-free recipes that only look complicated. Why Whisk Reward (besides the play on “risk-reward theory”)? Because each recipe has a special touch, or reward, that adds depth of flavor or just a little fun. Like spicy grapefruit margaritas with jalapeño-infused ice. Or white bean hummus with beet tahini swirls. Or vanilla bean ice cream with cones dipped in blood orange icing.

Because cooking elevated dishes can be easy and rewarding. I grew up in a very food-focused home in New York City. We cooked a lot, and when we weren’t cooking, we were talking about our next meal (and the one after that). My parents’ kitchen is a country-kitchen, which means it has a couch in it—because you might as well get comfortable for that much conversation about food. My mom also threw tons of dinner parties for her company, and, from a young age, I insisted on crafting the menu and designing the table for her guests. I always liked making up my own dishes, and that’s still how I cook today.
